Needs to stop. We hear it every year and there is not any evidence ever.
🚨 Mercedes reportedly KNEW George Russell’s engine was being pushed to its limit.
The power unit that failed in Malaysia had been in use since Hungary and Mercedes deliberately kept it running as part of a long-term reliability test for its 2027 development.
The downside? Russell has effectively paid the price.
Singapore is a terrible place to take a fresh engine penalty, meaning Mercedes may either risk an older unit again or wait until Austin and send George to the back of the grid.

Whatever you guys did with the „upgrade“ in Baku, just put it back.
You can count on Lando 99% of the time but he can‘t count on you. A shame.

"The incident behind the Safety Car was my mistake. The pack ahead checked up much more suddenly because of the situation with George & I just got caught out. It was a very unusual and unlucky situation, but at the end of the day, it's my responsibility to manage that. I know I could have done better today, just as the team knows we have work to do in making the car quicker. We will learn from today & turn our focus to preparing for Singapore."
