I kinda feel like The Boondocks came from a place of resentment. Aaron McGruder is one of those spergy anime-watching black people, and those types are very much out-of-place in black culture.
Autism is basically just an atavistic temperament. So a black person with autism is more "normal" ie they think like Eurasian hunter-gatherers (or white people) rather than crab boil / dewrag coons.
As a black person himself, this gave him a lot of leverage saying what he REALLY thought about black culture and what he always wanted it to be. You see this resentment even in his treatment of soul food: how shallow he sees it, and all this slave oppression nonsense they attach to it.
