Tesla’s long-delayed Semi trucks are finally hitting the road in a bigger way. Tesla is beginning deliveries from its Nevada plant nearly nine years after Elon Musk first unveiled the electric big rig. PepsiCo, DHL and U.S. Foods were among the customers on hand as Tesla showed off trucks bearing their logos. The long-range Semi promises 500 miles on a charge, while Tesla says its Nevada facility is ultimately planned to build 50,000 trucks a year. And demand may already be stacking up. Musk says the waiting list is "already pretty significant."

nine years is a long wait for a truck, but the timing is funny The diesel crack hit $106 a barrel on September 1. Port Houston moved a record 2.23M TEUs in the first half. Somebody has to haul those boxes, and diesel just made that a lot more expensive for the competitor.

Better phrasing than your first stab at it.

I see it has a California license plate. So the state with rolling blackouts because they don’t have enough electricity is going to have a semi with a giant battery. That’s just retarded, unless it’s going to pull a diesel generator for power.

There should be significant demand based on current diesel prices.

"Tesla's product is its stock, not its cars," says George Noble. "It’s all about the narrative. Elon Musk keeps shifting the story—from solar power a few years ago to The Boring Company, and for the past decade, promises of a robotaxi service." Next up is the Semi Trucks story.

On the 25th, the Nasdaq rose by 129.34 points (+0.48%). Tesla fell sharply, dropping 5.83 points (-1.54%) to close at 372.11. This serves as evidence of Tesla's lack of popularity; even the launch of the Semi truck has failed to generate interest.

Tell it straight ...after years of development and scaling production, in which the founding customers helped, Pepsi at al, tested the prototypes on real word condition.
