Former "American Idol" contestant Caleb Flynn's mistress took the stand and walked jurors through thousands of messages in which Flynn allegedly discussed killing his wife Ashley — months before she was found shot twice in the back of the head inside their Ohio home.
Among the most damning: "If I could literally kill her and not go to hell, I would do it in a heartbeat." Another read, "I hate her, loathe her. I want her dead." In one exchange, Flynn allegedly asked his mistress to "hire someone to take her out." She responded: "So tempting."
The night before Ashley Flynn was killed on Feb. 16, Caleb Flynn allegedly messaged his mistress: "It's happening." Then: "February 16th — day I'll never forget." She replied, "You're about to be free." His final message before learning his wife was dead: "I choose you." Flynn has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder.
A former prosecutor told Fox News Digital that Botner's testimony hands jurors the one thing they need most — a reason why a man would allegedly kill the mother of his children.

“I FROZE. I WAS SCARED”: Caleb Flynn broke down as jurors watched a police interview recorded hours after his wife Ashley was killed, describing what he claimed happened after hearing gunshots.
Flynn told investigators the family dog woke him and that he checked on his daughters before lying down with his youngest. He said he later heard gunshots.
“I froze. I was scared,” Flynn told investigators.
Flynn said he got up, found the door leading to the garage open and went into the bedroom, where he tried to get a response from Ashley. He said he then grabbed his phone from the living room and called 911.

“IS IT HER?” FBI investigators recovered deleted messages from Ashley Flynn’s iPhone showing her questioning husband Caleb Flynn about another woman weeks before she was killed, testimony Friday revealed.
Special Agent Andrea Kinzig testified some messages had been deleted from the phone’s messaging app but remained in underlying iPhone data. In one exchange, Caleb told Ashley he was worshipping and would call her later. Ashley replied: “You can be honest. Is it her?”
Other recovered messages showed Ashley frustrated with Caleb’s lack of responsiveness and that he had not made a reservation for their Valentine’s Day dinner.
The testimony came after Caleb’s former mistress, Alleigha Botner, spent two days on the stand detailing their affair. Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to killing his wife.
