this insane chud invented a stably flying monocopter. SINGLE. MOTOR. DRONE. It uses variable acceleration per rotation to "flap" the blades at different points, somewhat similar to a helicopter. in other news Ukraine and Russia report a 400% increase in one-way munitions

1/ We discovered something totally unexpected about the neural structure of consciousness that overturns decades of thinking on its biological basis and brings us significantly closer to the recipe for generating conscious awareness. breathing is enough to give you away each breath slightly changes how Wi-Fi waves reflect off your chest. with the right receiver and processing, those tiny changes can reveal your breathing rhythm the graphs in this animation use real WiRe-Breath recordings: orange is the rhythm extracted from Wi-Fi, gray is a reference breathing sensor i broke down how this works, and what else you can pull out of the radio waves around you, in the article below ↓

3D printing is getting wild! 🧊 A one-piece printed bar counter just dropped: 1.1 meters tall and over 4 meters long, made entirely from PETG with millimeter-level precision. A single continuous organic surface with integrated LED backlighting. A giant monolithic print. Every week we’re seeing 3D printers take on bigger, more complex, more architectural pieces. This one DEFINITELY shows just how far large-format additive manufacturing has come. Cool combination with robotics :) ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com

Sometimes things are funny when you look at them, but then you think and then you realize that Elon could actually live like this if he wanted to.
Arrêtez de croire qu’Elon Musk a une vie si différente de la vôtre : regardez sa routine matinale. C'est un homme comme vous et moi

I'm not an Elon hater. I'm just telling you the Honest Truth: This is a marketing stunt. The technology is quite old. Just nobody ever thought of bolting it on a car. Because it's pointless. Porsche or Ferrari could also build something like this if they wanted, but they don't, because it's not worth it for them. It's worth it for Elon though, because his entire brand is all about having the halo of futurism. His marketing scales especially well with tech gimmicks like this, which is why he is financially incentivised to do them, while others aren't. Again, I'm not hating, but actually educating yall. This is not engineering genius. It's marketing genius.

I've always been a big endorser of ComfyUI and I've been a user of it for quite a long time now, since close to the beginning. So much so that I chose to keep the old icon as my ComfyUI logo on my desktop.
Higgsfield promised to open-source their entire platform. They didn’t. Let's help them. For the next two weeks, Comfy and our partners are putting up $25,000 in prizes for the best open-source builds on the Comfy Developer Platform. Partners: @NVIDIAAI, @runpod, @MiniMax_AI, @ltx_io, @bfl_ai → $10K grand prize → RTX 5090: Most Innovative → RTX 5090: Most Viral → RTX 5090: Open Weights Only → 10 runners-up: $250 in Comfy credits

I'm old enough to remember when Higgsfield was actually using getting people laid off as a marketing strategy. Highly destructive messaging in a world that is already terrified of AI. Let's go Comfy 🫡

Let me show you an open source humanoid robot you can actually explore and build on. Meet Primo, developed by Alessio Pagliai. • 30 degrees of freedom • 3D-printable design • Walking control developed with NVIDIA Isaac Lab The project gives robotics enthusiasts a way to explore humanoid design and locomotion without starting from scratch.
What if you could build your own humanoid robot? Beijing Dynamics just released Sprite’s mechanical design on GitHub. 31 joints. 95 cm tall. Open CAD files plus URDF and MuJoCo models. One catch the trained controller checkpoint is missing. Would you build on this design or start from scratch?

Agentic CAD: Simulate before you begin Train walking policies on a simple model built from your robot spec before you start detailed CAD. This finds problems early: if the planned link lengths or motor layout cannot produce a stable gait, you learn it before you design any parts. The simple model uses boxes and capsules, takes minutes to change, and helps you answer design questions by RL/simulation. I used this to choose stance knee angle, joint limits, and knee direction. At the end of this stage the geometry and joint limits are frozen in the spec, and the CAD is then built to meet those targets. After the CAD is finished, train again on the detailed model. This confirms the simple model was accurate enough. For Q2, the results were almost the same. Tips: 1. I use mjlab and @skypilot_org - it's one git clone and you can start training RL in the cloud from the comfort of your macbook terminal, no GPU needed 2. 300-500 iterations are enough to prove a simple walking gait, don't let your agent keep training designs that fail to walk

3d printing a vice with some PETG on my X2D. Guys remember to wash your plates with soap and water. I kept failing prints with PETG, due to not knowing about the washing of the plate, appereantly, the oils in the plastics leech onto the plate and the sensors can’t work well enough to lay down the layers properly. Wash your plates!
