I genuinely thought I was going to die in an airplane the other day. I’ve flown hundreds of times and have never experienced turbulence like this. The plane suddenly rolled so violently that for about 5 seconds we were practically sideways. My seatbelt wasn’t tight enough and my head and neck smashed into the ceiling. I came back down basically on top of the guy next to me and immediately yanked my belt as tight as I could while gripping the armrest to stop myself being thrown into the aisle. Stuff went everywhere. Afterward, people were searching the cabin for their phones and belongings. I saw one guy with blood on his head. The craziest part was how silent the United crew were afterward, they didn’t mention it after being asked. I don’t trust them anymore.
