Iron is an underrated factor in aging It's also underrated, in my opinion, in many chronic diseases, including heart disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and others. Many scientists and doctors have done solid research on the relations between iron, aging, and disease, but their studies are generally obscure; the topic of iron and disease is generally unrecognized by both mainstream medicine and the public. Iron deficiency is of course widely appreciated as a cause of illness, excess iron is not. Iron deficiency is mainly concentrated in discrete groups: women of childbearing age, and children. The rest of us, men and older women, are more likely to suffer from excess iron. They are also, except in extreme cases such as hemochromatosis, unlikely to know it. I've spent a fair amount of time on this topic over the last 12 years, and have written a book (2016) and a peer-reviewed paper in the journal Aging (2021). Lake County Commission meeting—today I voted NO on rezoning 20 acres of agricultural land in northwest Lake County into a dense housing sub-division. Unfortunately, the vote passed 4-1. We cannot continue to eliminate agricultural lands in Lake County and across Florida. That is a short term decision, the negative effects of which are permanent & destroy the quality of life now & for our children.

Baby Boomers, born 1946–1964, were the generation of Woodstock (1969) and the late-1960s counterculture.  Drug use, especially marijuana and LSD, was widespread at this festival, and public nudity and casual sex occurred in mass.  And yet, in their twenties and thirties (after their hippie rebellion), Boomers were able to easily enter the work force with just a high school diploma.  Boomers could typically buy a median home for about 2-3 years of family income.  Today the same home costs about 4-5 years of income for Gen Z and Millennials, and the down payment is a much larger sum. The vast majority of America’s total wealth is possessed by the Boomers, but they want more. Boomers do not care that the younger generations are being forced to pay into a system that will not even exist when Gen Z and Millennials have need of it. In summary: Boomers are the first and only American generation who when faced with an invader and a traitor, and holding a gun with only two bullets, happily chooses to turn around and shoot their own grandchild twice.
