Blue Note, Tokyo - Night 3 (12/31): There was no better way to cap off a year like 2023 than by playing New Years shows in Tokyo. At some point in the middle of last year, I knew I was in the midst of a kind of creative runner’s high, and that I needed to end the year with the same spirit of adventure that had woven its way throughout two solo tours and a @deadandcompany run. I thank the audiences in Tokyo for their kindness and their hospitality, and to everyone who came to see a show, who tunes into the @SIRIUSXM channel, who tailgated in the lot, made a friend pay attention to a song in the car, and otherwise helped elevate the spirit of the work I create… thank you. I will never forget this year. You’ve opened up more doors than I could have ever imagined I’d see before me… sending you all my love and wishes for a safe, happy, and healthy 2024. ♥️

I launched a @SIRIUSXM channel last November, and day by day, it’s grown into something very special. If you haven’t tuned in to @lifewithjm yet, I think you’d really like it. I don’t usually shout about stuff I’m working on, but this feels like something well worth it. Maybe it’s because it’s not like an album, where I tend to be self-conscious about it. I listen to this channel every day, and enjoy it as a music listener as much as I do a creator. It’s the perfect way to experience music. It’s on channel 14, and it’s super easy to sign up and listen on the app. I’m posting out of pure enthusiasm… it’s like a clubhouse I’d love for you to pay a visit to. Try it for a couple of days. Stockholm, SE - the perfect kickoff to the Europe/UK tour. So great to be back in a city that has always supported me, and after four years away... and I’m joined by the brilliant @madicunningham who is sure to align me with the love of music every night via her insanely inspiring performances. As a long-time watch lover, today is a very special moment in my life. I’ve teamed up with @AudemarsPiguet to create a limited edition Perpetual Calendar Royal Oak, an iconic watch that I - like other collectors - hold in the highest esteem. This version features some unique design touches, including a brand new dial manufacturing process that gives the effect of staring up into the night sky. Also exciting is the news that this won’t be the only time AP and I collaborate; I have been given the honor of joining this incredible team via my new role as Creative Conduit, and I look forward to carrying forward my passion for all aspects of watchmaking and collecting through this inspiring partnership. London, night 1 - a really fun and musically adventurous evening. I was in that mood to play whatever song I saw on a sign, and the set list became something more felt than read. That’s how you know it’s a good one. See you again shortly for night two, London…

Paris, FR - one of my favorite solo shows ever. My very first show in France, and we sure made up for lost time. I was playing with this vicarious excitement knowing every song was a first for the audience, and it was a blast from beginning to end. I ♥️ Paris.

Glasgow, Scotland and Dublin Ireland - two great shows that brought the Solo tour phase of my life to a close. I can’t thank the audiences on this run enough - you listened so deeply, and that made me want to take all the chances I could. I’ll never forget these recent shows, as I will never forget this entire tour. For the rest of my life, I can say I did that… and I couldn’t have “done that” without you. Special thanks to @thomasfalcone for taking such great photos, and I would like to publicly apologize to him for wearing basically the same thing every night. A huge thanks to the entire crew who were just flawless, as usual. And in case you don’t see the next post centering around her, my deepest thanks to @madicunningham for inspiring me on a nightly basis. More fun soon…. ♥️

This is a standalone appreciation post of @madicunningham. Watching her perform inspired me every night. She is a monster guitar player who’s found new ground on the instrument. When she plays, I feel like if I’d never played a guitar before, I would race out and buy one the next day. And that’s an awesome headspace to take the stage with. Playing solo was a challenge to myself, and I’m very touched that Madison (as well as the other guest artists on this last year of touring) took that challenge along with me, and just absolutely mesmerized everyone in the crowd. Brilliant artist, brilliant human, and someone I greatly admire.

An annual tradition. Happy Birthday @BarbraStreisand!!! ♥️

I had the great honor of saying a few words about my friend @sammyhagar at the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. A much-deserved honor for a true rock legend and as cool a guy as they come. Congrats Sammy!! (Photos by Jon Luini)

I miss you the most when I’m exhausted and I just want to talk to my friend. I missed you when this magician was performing at this party I was at, and he was just okay, and I knew you’d have interjected with insanely funny one-liners, even if I couldn’t imagine what you would have said. I just miss you. We all miss you. Loss may be out of our control, but remembrance is our act of defiance. And we will never forget you. Love you Bob. Happy Birthday.
