SimCity 2000 is often cited as the most beloved game in the franchise. It has its own distinct and beautiful pixel style. There’s no need to improve what is already perfect.
I don’t need DLSS 5, and frankly I don’t understand the hype. I want games to stay in their original form, exactly as the people who designed them meant them to look.
I don’t understand this constant need for faster, better, and more. How about slower, good enough, and less? You can also optimize things to death... (take modern customer support strategies, for example).
Games are supposed to look and feel like games. They should leave the mind in a mode of interpretation and creativity. If everything starts to look hyper-realistic and lifelike, what remains to be imagined?
To me, many games are a piece of art (and yes, you can disagree, that's ok). So, as such, I want them to remain in their original state, as a testament of the time and the emotions associated with them.
You can call me old-fashioned, I can live with that.
