Gary’s been on job sites since before most politicians had a title.
He builds. He shows up. He wants the keiki learning ‘ōlelo Hawai’i in school starting in 3rd grade. It will be a normal part of growing up here, again.
A governor who works with his hands and wants the next generation to speak the language of this place.

Story time: Gary is a general contractor. One day a couple years ago, some developer called him up and offered him a massive amount of money to build homes in Lahaina after the horrendous and preventable fires.
Sensing corruption, he said “No, thank you.” He could have retired and lived a life of pure luxury off this single contract.
“You can recognize an invitation to corruption, and it requires self discipline, and honor, and integrity to say ‘no thank you, I’m not interested in that.’”
That’s the kind of man Gary Cordery is.

🚨 Gary dropped $100 in the tank and it still wasn’t full. He said he can feel the angst among the people.. He’s right.
That’s Hawaiʻi in 2026. Gas. Groceries. Rent. Medicine. We work all week and can barely keep up, if we can even do that.
Green talks affordability. Families are still getting taxed on food and medicine on the way home from the pump.
Gary’s first move is simple: take the GET off food and medicine. This will translate to real money back in the cart. Not another speech.
Cost of living isn’t a slogan when a hundred bucks can’t fill the truck, and people are tired of pretending it’s fine.
We don’t have to live like this.
