Here is Mid January storm. Normally this Creek is 15 feet lower. And here only about 1 foot deep in July and August.

Why two pictures ! Railroad bridge coming from Portland to 140 miles south to Eugene following hwy 99w. But same creek . Draining the east side of north Oregon coast range . Summer by July 4 to 12 inches deep . Good winter storm 15 feet higher . Built 1870 .

What is Bokeh? Bokeh is how your lens turns out-of-focus points of light into soft, smooth shapes (often little circles). It’s not to be confused with just having a creamy or blurry background. Bokeh is specifically about the quality of those blurred lights and edges.
How to create Bokeh?
1) Use a wide aperture (small f-number like f/2.8), this creates shallow depth of field so only your subject stays sharp.
2) Get close to your subject and leave plenty of space between it and the background
3) Use a longer lens if you have one, at least 50mm, but longer is better.
4) Look for backgrounds with small points of light (sun through leaves, fairy lights, reflections) — these turn into the soft glowing circles that show off bokeh best.

So what exactly is Depth of Field?
Depth of Field is the zone of acceptable sharpness in a photo — the area in front of and behind your focal point that stays in focus.
• Deep DOF = almost everything in the frame is sharp (great for landscapes).
• Shallow DOF = only a narrow slice is sharp while the rest melts into beautiful, creamy dreamland
