For me and for anyone who cares about local gov’t in S. Fla., the latest cuts at @MiamiHerald are a calamity. It was bad enough when the longtime beat reporter for Miami Beach, @aaron_leib, left the paper last month. But the news that his position won’t be filled is even worse.

Last month, Surfside voted to present billionaire Ken Griffin with an honorary key.
