I’ll never not go to bat for Band of Brothers. It’s a miniseries that EVERYONE should watch at least once.
New HBO show Band of Brothers airs its sixth episode, “Bastogne,” about the German siege of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge and especially the role of medic Eugene “Doc” Roe.

A Texas Southern poll of just Fort Bend County puts Talarico ahead of Paxton 56-38%. Here's my write-up from a while back on the significance of Fort Bend (and Collin) for November:

A far too rare moment of humanity from a politician. We need more of this in DC, and less crooks, conmen, and self-dealers.
As Republicans demonize @AngieNixon, and JD Vance tells her "you don't belong in America," they run the risk of having it backfire. Nixon can be a compelling figure. Here she is getting emotional when I asked her to tell voters something personal about herself. @CBSMiami

Assuming there isn’t a dedicated PvE mode at launch, this is the first Call of Duty since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007 to not have a PvE or co-op type of mode. When people wonder why so many of us were asking for a PvE option for DMZ, this is why. Unfortunately, this game will be a skip for me this year without something like this. I wish IW the best with the game though, and I hope they consider adding some type of PvE.
Welcome to Hajin 🗺️ From gearing up at the FOB to completing Orders, hunting Lieutenants, and extracting with what you earned, here’s what you need to know before your first DMZ deployment 👇 callofduty.com/blog/2026/10/…

Here's a nearly 10-minute supercut of Troy Jackson taking it to Susan Collins during their debate tonight, including Jackson telling her "you can't eat road salt" and "Collins is like an arsonist who helped set the fire, and then she wants credit for bringing a cup of water to put it out"

Bro has financed one of the most toxic ad campaigns in the entire country against Amy Acton. Absolutely vile, despicable stuff. Is he surprised?
Gov. Candidate @VivekGRamaswamy (R-OH) says when he tried to greet opponent Amy Acton (D) at an event where he had also greeted Sherrod Brown (D) "Her entire team was prepared for it, they flanked her, put a circle around here...blocks me...that's not America."

If you were to choose only one race to watch this year, I’d argue it should be this one. Because she’s right. A progressive Democrat winning in a crucial battleground will be very telling for what is politically viable for Democrats going forward. This would have the potential to shift the Democratic Party away from its decades-long centrist platform. For those who argue it’ll never happen: look at MAGA and how it shifted the Republican Party establishment to a more far-right platform. And that’s a platform that only masquerades as Populism while it primarily exists to serve political leaders and corporate elites. A true populist, progressive agenda that is being promoted by El-Sayed and others? That’s enticing. Just look at NYC - Zohran Mamdani is already doing it by revolutionizing common-sense, people-first legislation. Simple things that improve people’s everyday lives. And he’s one of the most popular politicians in the entire country according to some polls.
NYT: AOC Says, “If Abdul Can Win in Michigan, Anybody Can Win Anywhere” Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made the remarks about Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Michigan, as she considers whether to run for president in 2028. nytimes.com/2026/10/05/us/po…

These midterm polls have gotten me nervous lol. Some are all over the place, some have suggested Dem leads in places that seem ridiculous for them to have them (like Texas Governor). Fearing we may have another polling miss this year. I still think Democrats will win, especially the House, but we’ll have to wait and see if the blue tsunami that some polls suggest will actually happen, or if we’re sticking to a blue wave (or smaller).
