We have a good time Civics for the People. The beauty of an interactive format is we get to experience the different personalities in the room. Our Mayoral candidates were live and Ms. Anita showed up giving out candy from the snack table to get votes 😂😂🤷🏾‍♂️. She did not win the race for mayor, the snacks didn’t work 😂😂. Keep telling me Jeff Landry and Republicans are good for Louisiana and the data says they suck at their jobs. I’m just going to keep reminding you things don’t have to be this way. We can choose better leaders. Unless yall don’t care about making more money? Tell me a jobs project that isn’t industrial that Jeff Landry has brought to Baton Rouge? Tell me what Julia “Lay Low” Letlow has done to help bring jobs to the region to be elected a U.S. Senator? These people aren’t serious but the consequences of them being in office is. They funded reparations at Civics for the People. 😂🦾 During our government simulation, each group had to decide how to spend its budget. The federal government put $1 billion toward reparations — and made food and poverty a priority. I didn’t tell them to do that. They made the choice. We talk about crime, education and healthcare all the time, but we don’t talk enough about the root causes — including poverty. This is Civics for the People — learning how government works by putting the power in the hands of the people. Next stop: Shreveport, September 26th. Registration opens this week. The Governor is bragging on jobs but none of these companies are going to pay their fair share in taxes. Your conservative legislators even created a law to stop you from being able to sue SpaceX before the deal was even inked. District Attorney Hillar Moore keeps launching attacks at @RKeithThompson. He fails to talk about how his office has failed families in this parish with poor prosecutions. Hillar has been district attorney since 2009. In the last 18 years we’ve had 1800 homicides. We’ve become less safe under Hillar’s leadership but he says Ryan doesn’t have the experience to be DA… Well this is an example of the experience we’ve been getting with Hillar as District Attorney.
