On this day 10 years ago, TheDAO was hacked.
If you had told people then that TheDAO would one day be funding Ethereum security, they probably wouldn’t have believed you.
Yet here we are.
Our first Ethereum Security QF Round funded 134 projects working to make Ethereum safer.
Not a bad next chapter.
June 17, 2016: TheDAO was hacked.
Over the next months we hacked TheDAO several times in a variety of ways & rescued all the ETH.
Every one affected was able to claim their $ETH back and got bonus $ETC from the Hard Fork💰
It's the only hack recovery I know of where everyone made money... even the hacker! 🤷♂️
10 years later, TheDAO has a new mission & has about the same amount of money as it raised in the first place!

TheDAO's Ethereum Security QF Round matching funds have officially been distributed 🛡️
What started as a 500 ETH matching pool from @thedaofund ultimately grew to 638 ETH+ thanks to support from across the ecosystem.
134 projects have now received funding to continue their work strengthening Ethereum security.
