Ukraine has again targeted Russia's largest oil tank farm, with major fires reported at the Samara oil storage and dispatch hub, roughly 940 km from Ukraine.
The sprawling facility covers more than 216 hectares and contains 71 tanks capable of storing over 1.6 million cubic meters of crude oil. It is a critical hub for receiving, blending, storing and transporting Russian oil through the country’s pipeline network.
An ongoing Ukrainian campaign against the facility, at least 14 of its 71 tanks have already been damaged, along with pipelines, pumping and oil-loading infrastructure.
The Samara facility is not only the largest in Russia, but all Europe as well.
