In this episode of the Backtable podcast, host Dr. Neil Jain (@DigitalAngio) interviews UCSD integrated IR resident Dr. David Mittelstein (@drmittelstein) about a national SIR survey on integrated interventional radiology (IR) attrition. Dr. Mittelstein discusses that pre-residency factors (demographics, prelim year type, prior specialty considerations) were not associated with questioning IR; instead, perceived value mattered more than quantity, including clinic value and junior-year IR experiences.
