I think that "communism" is just the natural rebellion of man. Puritans, Albigensians, Münster, the French Revolution: all selfish libertine rejections of natural order, duty, and Patriarchy. The same trends pop up but seemingly unlinked. Perhaps it is just original sin.
The Puritans were the first to establish real governments on the basis of political equality. They were influenced to reject political hierarchy by both their leveling religious sensibilities and bourgeois habits of thought that privileged consent and contract over unchosen bonds of duty and loyalty. Why is it so hard to see this?
