I’ve learned that trusting people can get you hurt, loving somebody can leave you broken, and being real with people can sometimes make them turn against you or question you.
And honestly, lately I’ve been having a hard time trusting people. The way some people have treated me has made me question who I can really count on, and that’s a hard place for me to be.
I still love with my whole heart, but I’m learning to be more careful about who I give it to. I’m not going to keep ignoring red flags or making excuses for people just because I care about them.
I’m not perfect, and I’ve made my mistakes. But what you see is what you get with me. I’d rather be real, even if it means not everybody likes me, than pretend to be somebody I’m not just to keep people around.
I may be more guarded now, but I’m not giving up on people or on the good that’s still out there. I believe the right people will make me feel safe enough to trust again.
I’ve chosen peace, and yes, I’ve lost a lot of people along the way. Some losses hurt more than others, but I’m learning that not every goodbye is a punishment. Sometimes it’s simply life making room for something healthier.
I’m not rushing the healing. Time has a way of revealing what’s real, healing what hurt, and showing you who was meant to stay.
So for now, I’m protecting my peace, keeping my heart soft, and letting time show me who’s genuine
