The impressive symmetry captured here underscores the rich complexity of galaxy NGC 2985. Its spiral arms wind outward from a bright, concentrated core, opening up as they go and eventually fading into the surrounding void. (Credit: ESA/Hubble & NASA, L. Ho)

Topsy-Turvy Spiral 🌀 @nasahubble captured an image of galaxy NGC 4654, which is asymmetric. One edge is defined while the opposite has a long tail of gas stretching out. The galaxy’s asymmetry is due to its high velocity as it travels through space! go.nasa.gov/3UeM7CY
