The next lunar eclipse is in two days, on August 27–28, exactly during the Orthodox celebration of the Dormition of the Mother of God, dedicated to the “falling asleep” (death) of Mary, the Theotokos (“Mother of God”), and her being taken up into heaven (resurrection).
It’s going to occur in the zodiac constellation of Aquarius, opposite the previous solar eclipse in Leo.
