This man is a college baseball legend but all of his records and accolades pale in comparison to the type of person he was. He was a hall of fame human being. Im blessed to have known him.

I worked for 4 years in the Athletic Department at the U of M and there was no one that I enjoyed running into more than Coach. Pure class, genuine to the core, and the definition of humble. Prayers to Jan, Erin, & all those connected to John.

Was honored to play against him as a Buckeye. We had some amazing battles back in the late 90s. Every Gopher I ever met had nothing but great things to say about 14.

True legends come along so seldom. I’m thankful the University of Minnesota had John Anderson at the helm of its baseball program for nearly a half century, doing things the right way. He was everything a Golden Gopher should represent. RIP 14.

I will forever be grateful for the opportunity 14 gave me as a player in the program. More importantly was his leadership and mentorship that would help me for life after my playing days were over. RIP 14, I’m so thankful our lives crossed paths!!!

Why scrub John's bio of his three years as a student manager? Insulting to those of us who were there in old days. He was never a student coach.

I was lucky enough to get recruited by Coach Anderson. Although I chose to play at Iowa - I have great memories of our battles with Minnesota. Coach Anderson was a class act
