Happy New Month

I celebrate and rejoice with my daughter, Jazmyne, who yesterday, earned a Bachelor of Laws (Upper Second-Class Honours) degree from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. I and my darling wife are so elated to have witnessed that moment of joy of parenthood. Jazmyne, thank you for making us proud. I thank my friend and brother, His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the BoT Chairman of our party, the PDP, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, and others who, attended the graduation ceremony, not-minding their busy schedule. You will always receive happiness from your children.

We continued with our commissioning of projects in the FCT yesterday, with the official commissioning of the newly rehabilitated over 16km Old Keffi Road—stretching from Kado Village through Life Camp to Dei-Dei Junction by the Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX). The critical road project was inaugurated by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, who represented Mr President, and I appreciate the President for steadfastly backing the FCT Administration's infrastructural drive. Most importantly, I am very happy that all the promises Mr. President made to the people around this area have been fulfilled. During the ceremony, I noticed a group of residents holding up banners and pleading for the rehabilitation of the rural Kagini-Zauda-Kabba road and I responded immediately by directing the Executive Secretary of the FCDA to ensure the deployment of Lubriks Construction Company to the area. The road will connect three major settlements of Kagini, Kaba and Zauda, starting from the Outer Northern Expressway (Kubwa/Zuba expressway) in Kagini and terminate on the Old Keffi Road in Zauda.

Today, being Day 15 of our 31-day projects commissioning in the FCT, we were in Dafa Village to officially commission the newly constructed Gomani-Dafa-Yangoji Road in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT. The road project, which was awarded in November, 2025, and completed under 10 months, marked a major milestone in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to bridge the development gap between Abuja's urban centers and its rural communities. As emphasised by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Abuja cannot be a city of two worlds, with gleaming districts and forgotten settlements. The project was occasioned as a result of community-led development, where the Council Chairman and traditional rulers directly nominated a 43km road network required in the area to address security challenges and improve the lives of the people. Tomorrow, we will be in Gaduwa District to commission another road project.

Today, being the 13th day of our 31-day projects commissioning in the FCT, the full-scope development of Collector Roads C01 and C02 in Mabushi District, linking Mabushi bus terminal to Ahmadu Bello Way in Abuja was officially commissioned. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was represented at the ceremony by Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, aptly described the completion of the road project as a tangible manifestation of his administration's Renewed Hope Agenda. I thank the Vice President for creating time out of his tight schedule to be part of our celebration of the President with unprecedented projects commissioning. No doubt, our sweeping successes in the infrastructural revolution in the FCT is entirely as a result of the unwavering support of Mr President. A focused leadership leaves subordinates with no choice but to deliver top-tier results. We will continue with the celebration of the third year anniversary of Mr President with the commissioning of roads in Karu on Monday, next week.

Also yesterday, I attended the 109th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of our party, the PDP, held at the Wadata House National Secretariat of the party. I used the opportunity to urge candidates of the party, especially those running for governorship, to brace up for keen contests. For me, nobody gives power, and nobody will dash anyone power. Whoever that is seeking power must be ready to struggle for it. For instance, I am from a background where I never got anything on a platter of gold. When I contested for ordinary local government chairmanship position, the matter went all the way to the Supreme Court.

In continuation of the commissioning of projects in the FCT, the newly completed Phase 1 of the Kuje-Gwagwalada dual carriageway, linking Kuje Area Council to Gwagwalada was commissioned today. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was represented at the ceremony by Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, aptly described the completion of the critical infrastructure project as a definitive promise kept, marking a vital victory for the FCT’s rural communities. As also posited by Mr President, with the construction of this road, we have unlocked the agricultural potential of the area, opened new residential layouts and made the area safe for residents. It is important to note that upon taking office, I personally toured all six FCT Area Councils to interact directly with local stakeholders and listen to their needs. During those interactive visits, the traditional ruler of Kuje specifically highlighted the direct link between the area's severe insecurity and its broken roads, which made it nearly impossible for security agencies to pursue criminals, and pleaded for the completion of the abandoned airport road to the Kuje dual carriageway and later the Kuje-Gwagwalada road. I am glad that the FCT Administration responded decisively to that requests, first completing the road from Garage Junction to the LEA Secretariat, and the Airport road to Kuje highway, and later presenting the Kuje-Gwagwalada road project to the Federal Executive Council (FEC), and President Tinubu promptly approved the contract award to Gilmor Nigeria Limited. With the first phase completed, the second phase of the corridor is already on track to be fully completed by December this year. This will enable commuters to travel seamlessly between Gwagwalada and Kuje without being forced onto the busy federal highway. Tomorrow, the 31 Days of projects commissioning will continue with the interchange and road linking Jahi to Gwarimpa.

Today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, represented by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, officially commissioned the Karu Satellite Town water supply network, with more than 194 kilometres of secondary and tertiary pipeline networks designed to provide treated and potable water to residents of Karu, Orozo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu and neighbouring communities. In response to President Tinubu’s directive that critical infrastructure should extend beyond the city centre to communities on the outskirts of Abuja, the project was awarded in August 2025, and completed within one year. I thank Mr President for supporting people-centred projects across the FCT, particularly in satellite communities that have historically suffered infrastructure deficits.

I am glad that the Access Road bypassing the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport's second runway, off the Bill Clinton Drive to the Tungan Madaki Community in the FCT was commissioned yesterday. As attested to by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was represented by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, the newly commissioned road will open up critical economic pathways for local communities that have spent years physically isolated from the economic heart of the FCT. It will also address a long-standing historical injustice against original inhabitants of the area who had surrendered their ancestral lands to allow the construction of the second runway. I commend the people of Tungan Madaki for their cooperation. The communities, rather than demanding exorbitant financial payouts, requested basic, life-changing necessities like roads and employment, which we have done. To further open up the communities and link the Abuja Municipal Area Council directly to the Gwagwalada Area Council, I have directed the contractor, CCECC to complete the extension from Tungan Madaki down to Zuba by December 2026.

Today, we commissioned the newly constructed Court of Appeal Judges’ Quarters in the Katampe District of the FCT. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was represented by the Chief Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, at the occasion, which also coincided with the flag-off of the construction of residential quarters for the National Industrial Court and the Code of Conduct Tribunal Judges, emphasized that the project represented a tangible demonstration of his administration's enduring commitment to the welfare, dignity, and independence of the Nigerian judiciary. The President made it clear that a robust justice sector is the bedrock of good governance, economic growth, and social stability. When we took bold administrative steps to secure the land, which was allocated to a major construction firm more than 15 years ago but was left completely undeveloped, I was accused of land grabbing on social media. But today, those who accused me of land grabbing can now see that I didn't grab any land. Rather, I only took the land from those who left it undeveloped for over 15 years, developed the land and provided infrastructure for our judicial officers. Tomorrow, which will be Day 6 of our projects commissioning, we will commission the Federal High Court Judges’ Quarters in the same Katampe District of the FCT.

In continuation of the commissioning of projects in the FCT, a new state-of-the-art Court of Appeal, Abuja Division Building was commissioned yesterday, by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The President described the facility as a bold statement of his administration's Renewed Hope Agenda towards providing a befitting home for the rule of law. For us, provision of a comfortable, modern environment for judges is critically important to the sustenance of the independence and integrity of the judiciary. Today too, we will hand over the Quarters for the Court of Appeal Judges in Abuja, and also flag-off the construction of new Quarters for the Industrial Court and Code of Conduct Tribunal judges.

I am glad that the newly constructed six-lane dual carriageway Airport Expressway to Kuje Road was commissioned yesterday. The road project, which was awarded in February, 2022, had no contractor on-site and was completely abandoned when the current administration took office. With the successful completion of this vital road project, the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has restored the hope lost by residents of Kuje. The new road will provide dignified connectivity between the city centre and suburbs and decongest the Abuja metropolis. I thank Vice President Kashim Shettima, for commissioning the project on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. On Monday, next week, which will be Day 4 of the 31 Days of Projects Commissioning in the FCT, it will be commissioning of another major project by the President.

Today, being the second day of our over 30 days of projects commissioning in the FCT, on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, commissioned the full-scope development of Arterial Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way), stretching from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road III in the Dape District of Abuja. Today's commissioning marked the completion of the Dape District section of the Arterial Road N5, following last year's commissioning of the Gwarinpa section. Recall that we had 9 days of projects commissioning in 2024, 19 days in 2025 and now an unprecedented 31-day streak for the third anniversary of Mr President. This is a proof that the Renewed Hope Agenda is fully alive in the FCT.

Today, President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, officially commission the completed main carriageways of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX), starting from Gudu Cemetery to Kabusa Junction. Tomorrow, which will be the second day of our over 30 days of projects commissioning in the FCT, we will commission the newly constructed Arterial Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way) from Life Camp Junction to RR III, Dape District section. Contract for the OSEX main carriageways from RRI to RRII was awarded in October last year, meaning that the project, with two bridges, was delivered within eight months. This is another demonstration that nothing is impossible if we are determined and committed to achieving results.

Tomorrow, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will officially begin the commissioning of projects in the FCT, as part of his third anniversary celebrations. The President will commence with the commissioning of stage two of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) Main Carriageways. Credit must go to Mr. President, who has supported us to go this far.

Yesterday, I inspected the ongoing construction of the Renewed Hope City Access road in Karsana District, Old Keffi road to Dei-Dei and Life Camp, Airport Road to Kuje, Phase 1 of the Kuje to Gwagwalada road and City Gate remodeling. I am happy that the Renewed Hope City in Karsana, which is a critical infrastructure designed to unlock access to thousands of affordable housing units in the FCT is 98% completed. The 17km Old Keffi Road stretching from Kado Village and Life Camp junction through to the Dei-Dei axis is officially cleared for commissioning too and once completed, this critical infrastructure will link populated communities like Saburi, Gwagwa, Idu and Karmo directly to the Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX) dramatically reducing travel time. Also, the progress of work on the FCT Highway 105 from Airport Road to Kuje is commendable, just as the Phase 1 of the Kuje to Gwagwalada Road, which is completed too. These two major roads have transformed the visual landscape of the entire Kuje area. The Abuja City Gate remodeling project, the visionary brainchild of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is also on track for a formal handover by early June. This is going to give the nation's capital a modern, welcoming new look.

Inspecting the ongoing construction of access roads to the Renewed Hope Estate in Karsana, Dei-Dei to Life Camp road, road connecting the Body of Benchers, Baze and Nile Universities at the Institution and Research District and the Bill Clinton Drive (Airport Road) to Tugan Madaki community today. These projects are slated to be inaugurated by Mr President as part of his third-year anniversary celebration and the contractors handling the road projects assured that outstanding works including lighting, would soon be completed.

Happy New Month

Today, I received Ambassadors and High Commissioners Designate, who were on a courtesy visit to my office. They were led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed. As directed by Mr. President, lands will be allocated to the Ambassadors and High Commissioners Designate. This move is intended to provide the envoys with permanent residences in the nation’s capital, and ensure that they have a home to return to during official briefings and after their service abroad. The diplomats were urged to be the eyes and ears of Nigeria during their national assignments, reminding them their character and representation are vital to how the world perceives the country. They were also urged to counter misinformation regarding Nigeria’s political landscape, especially the narrative that Nigeria is turning into a one-party state. For me, there is no attempt by Mr. President to make Nigeria a one-party state. The mere fact that one political party has a problem does not mean that Nigeria will be a one-party state, and that should be made clear.
