Interesting from Sir Anthony Seldon’s new book “Sunak at 10” (and also “Truss at 10”) that I was TWICE almost made Chief Whip in Autumn 2022. I would have been pleased to serve. But one thing’s for sure - I wouldn’t have published a tell-all memoir about it! #WhipsOmerta

At the end of the day a chief whip can only do job if PM listened to them ! Think Sunak was better bet

I think calling someone "numerate" is one of the best forms of flattery.

You would have made a great Chief in comparison to Simon Hart. Not only had he never been a whip, he sought to betray the trust and confidence of colleagues often when they were vulnerable, to enrich himself through a book deal. Sick man.

As one shouldn't. Especially if there is still plenty of time to find yourself back in such places. @chhcalling & history, videos, or quotes are recorded.

But what about the watch - now collector's items in view of a certain fall from grace. @andrewsduncan1

@SarahChampionMP @EmilyThornberry Is this the new kind of friend #UK wants as its post-#Brexit trading partner to replace those nasty #EU lot? A host of @Conservatives ministers have been buttering him up. @GregHands last one. Did he get a watch?
