First Aid: This is the most important item on the list. You should already have several IFAKs: one in the vehicle (for car accidents), one in a backpack (general emergencies), one on your gun belt, and one with two or three IFAKs’ worth of supplies to mark the firing line (an ammo can painted white w/ a red cross is a great solution). Before anyone starts shooting, tell the group where the kits are, and park vehicles so they can leave quickly. If you want to be super-duper safe, tape the local hospital’s name and directions on the steering wheel. This way medical gear is on people, on the line, in the pile behind the line, and in the truck you’d use to get someone to the hospital. Water: Everybody likes the scout-mom who brings a cooler full of drinks. Toss a few beers in there for after packing up. Leatherman: This should already be on your belt. A Leatherman with a bit kit gets used nine times out of ten. The pliers help with stuck casings and someone will eventually want the bits for their optic. You can find plenty of knockoff bit kits on Amazon for 1/3rd the price, or grab an adapter so you can use regular hex ones. Fix-It Sticks work too if you have too much money and soft hands. Paint can opener: A lot of high-speed LARPers hang one on a chest rig or plate carrier. It’s cheap and useful for stuck casings. Cleaning kit: The rod is good for stuck casings. Someone will also borrow the lube, because not enough people have bought Vril Advanced CLP from the Agarthan Armory. LensPen/Microfiber cloth: Treat your optics right. You can fit the items above (other than IFAK) in a pouch to make it easy to never forget as you switch range bags/totes. I put mine in a Crown Royal bag so its easy to recognize for others to grab it themselves so I dont get stuck helping them. Trash bags: Clean up ammo boxes, snacks, old targets. Bug repellant: Its all fun and games till youre packing up at night and the mosquitos come out. Permanent markers and painter’s tape: Mark your targets and your mags. Gloves: So you dont burn the shit out of your hand when removing that suppressor you assume has cooled off. Flashlight: Find your stuff, check chambers, etc without having to flag people by using a weapon light. Bully anyone you know who doesnt have a flashlight on their person. Paracord, zipties: Repair gear, make an impromptu sling, etc. This should already be in your truck and/or backpack. You should have most of the items above in your vehicle already. Tasteful Photo of Your Wife: If you don’t have one, a printout of the sexy girl-rabbit from Space Jam will do. It’s there as a reminder of what you’re LARPing for when you and your buddies find a cool bleed out spot.
