The only chance Republicans have of even getting close to winning in 2028 is if an outsider pulls off a Hail Mary Trump-2016 style run and even that might be an impossibility. If you’re a Vance supporter you are actively trying to shut the door on any remote chance of beating the left a whole two years before 2028 while we still have plenty of time to lay the groundwork for the chance of something better.
