Went to get a haircut because I’m squared away and a thoroughly indoctrinated Master Sergeant of Marines.
The barber asked, “What can I do for you?”
I said, “The usual, ma’am.”
Ms. Pamela replied, “So you’re going with the ’80s Marine from Cherry Point look again, huh?”
I smiled and replied. “Is there a different era with a better haircut?”
“Absolutely not said, “Those were the best days.” And she laughed in remembrance.
When she finished, she took the apron off, pinched a single long hair growing out of my left ear—I felt the tug—and said, “Want me to cut this off for an extra dollar? It’s considered cosmetic.” Then she laughed.
After all that m, I walked out refreshed and pissed off at the same time. Nobody told me about the rogue ear hair. Not even my own Marines. Cost me an extra dollar that came straight out of her tip. I guess I’m getting old.
Moral of the story: Get smoked over before you hit the barbershop.
YUT. SEMPER. KILL.
Went to get a haircut today because I’m a squared away devil dog.
The barber asked, “what can I do for you?”
I said, medium skin fade and nothing off the top.
She was so good that she trimmed the little flyaways in my comb over, without me asking for it. That’s how you know you have a good Barber.
However, she is so good that she also trimmed my hairy ass ears that I didn’t ask for. 😒
When she was finished, she stepped back, smiled, and said, “There you go… now you don’t look like a soldier.”
She deserved a tip just for that 😂
