A fast reply isn’t the same as solving the problem. That was one of Jeremy Gall's, Founder and CEO of Breezeway's key points at GuestyVal. If the AC is broken, sending a nice message back in seconds is great. But the guest doesn’t need a reply. They need the AC fixed. 🎥 Watch Jeremy’s full session: piped.video/Dddo1NhXBY0 He discussed: ⚙️ What should actually be automated 🤝 Where people still need to show up 🏠 The difference between service and hospitality 📲 Why automated response isn’t the same as automated resolution ✨ How to protect the moments guests actually remember

The report most operators skip? Payment Reports. Ben Duncan, Founder of The Horizon Line made the case for them during Guesty Live: Under the Hood at GuestyVal, with Simon Lehmann. His point was simple: once you can get your data out cleanly, you can do a lot more with it. Reservation exports can feed revenue management and dashboards. You can use Copilot inside Guesty to start asking questions of it directly. And if the data lives elsewhere, in Notion, a CRM or another system, the Open API and Zapier give you ways to bring it back into the picture. After years using Guesty, Ben’s takeaway was: “There’s not much you can’t get nowadays.” 😎

“AI is not a drug we should be constantly using.” Graham Donoghue had a few lines at GuestyVal that made the room sit up. This was one of them. Because faster isn’t automatically better. More output isn’t automatically better. And as AI gets easier to use, Graham’s point was that human taste, judgment and knowing what good actually looks like matter even more. Then Kate Cox brought Njål Eliasson and Trevor Stout into the conversation to get into the practical side: 🛠️ When should you build, and when should you just buy? 🧠 Where does AI help most, and where do you still need a human making the call? 🔎 What happens when conversational search and agentic commerce start changing how guests find and book stays? A very good conversation on what AI actually looks like when you move past the hype. 🎥 Watch the full Builders View session at GuestyVal on YouTube: piped.video/oiVeQ6tKr3s

Dynamic pricing has changed how the STR industry thinks about revenue. sean rakidzich's Builder Ignite session was about what you can build on top of that. His approach combines pricing and market occupancy data with signals from Airbnb, like click-through rates and first-page visibility, to get a clearer picture of why certain dates aren’t booking. Is it price? Minimum stay? The listing itself? Or simply a day where demand is much lower across the market? Bringing those signals together gives operators more context to make the call. 🎥 Watch the full Builder Ignite session from GuestyVal: piped.video/rzJeXtmoVrQ

Pretty much everyone says they’re using AI. But how many can tell you exactly how much money it’s making them? That was the question Erwan Le Roy Founder and CEO of Bijou Getaways put to the room during his Builder Ignite session at GuestyVal. His answer was to build a “second brain” for the business, pulling together everything from pricing and reservations to ad spend, operations and team meetings. So instead of asking AI isolated questions, it can actually see what’s happening across the business and help answer the one that matters: What should we do next? Erwan says the result so far has been a 33% increase in gross income and 79% increase in profitability. And his closing line probably sums it up best: “The business that remembers wins.” 🎥 Watch the full Builder Ignite session from GuestyVal: piped.video/7ddxF5LmJR8

25 to 150 properties in two months is pretty wild. But that’s exactly what Njål Eliasson and the team at Proptonomy had to deal with. His Builder Ignite talk was basically the story of what they built to keep up. Guest messages coming in. Someone gets locked out. A vendor needs dispatching. All the little things that are manageable at 25 properties and suddenly become a very different problem at 150. They were trying to break an equation the industry has followed for years: more listings = more people. So they started building with AI instead. Really practical. Slightly nerdy. And a very good look at what’s possible when the people closest to the problems can start solving them themselves. 🎥 Watch the full Builder Ignite session from GuestyVal: ordnl.link/35wdCqf

"In 2026, your tech stack stopped waiting for instructions and started showing up to work." That's how Vered Raviv-Schwarz opened day three of GuestyVal on the Main stage this morning. Her reframe: hybrid work isn't office versus home anymore. It's a team that's half human, half AI. Which puts the pressure somewhere less comfortable. Not on the technology, on the handoffs. Which work suits a person, which suits an agent, and who owns the point where it passes between them. Steve Schwab of Casago and Graham Donoghue of Forge Holiday Group joined her for the fireside straight after, on how leaders earn trust while the roles are still moving.

The latest from @skift! 👉skift.com/2026/01/01/live-to… 👀For operators, the takeaway is simple: Event-driven demand is more predictable than it looks, if you’re set up to act on it. Meaning visibility into future demand, pricing that adjusts, & automation that scales.

Black-swan moments aren’t rare in STR - they’re the norm. Yet most operators are still running revenue through generic processors that weren’t built for the complexity of this industry. Guesty Pay Suite™ changes that.
