Johnny Flynn, who plays Frankie Cooper in MobLand, revealed that Liam Gallagher was a major inspiration for the character. He drew on the Oasis frontman’s swagger and 90s sportswear style, reflected in Frankie’s velour tracksuit. He explains:
“Yeah, probably more Liam [Gallagher]. It’s more the top dog energy that I drew on […] but also the look as well…
…and I think because of the age I am, which is obviously the age Frankie is, you know, that mid ‘90s swagger was such a thing when I was a teenager.
The cocky aesthetic was very cool, very seductive. And he's probably still got that in his DNA, but then he's turned it into something really warped.”
