Arsenal CEO Richard Garlick recently said that the club is "winning on the field, winning off the field, and winning with our supporters" - why is this relevant today?
To those that say Bruno Guimaraes at almost 29y/o doesn’t represent a sensible investment, I’d argue as a football club, if we’re to ‘fix the roof while the sun is shining’ & build on what we achieved last season, we need top players ready to perform at the highest level… now.
The best recruitment strategies have an element of balance & based on everything we’re reading there is a focus on signing younger players & bright talents that should hopefully future proof our squad.
If Newcastle’s stance on Bruno G changes, we’re going to have to pay a big fee. A bigger fee than most would be comfortable with given the player’s age and contract situation but if we can do it, I’m all for it! We’re a huge club in a position of power currently - time to take advantage of that. I haven’t forgotten the days we kept losing our best players to bigger fish - it’s our turn now.
Not every signing has to be with the next 5 years in mind. 2/3 successful years in which the Brazilian plays a key role would be looked back on as priceless! If there’s a deal to be done and it’s a big if at this stage, I’d like to see Arsenal flex their muscles, throw their weight around & get this done.
