🇬🇧🇷🇺 UK Royal Navy has completed an intense three-day operation tracking Russian Navy vessels and sanctioned cargo ships in UK waters. @RoyalNavy During the operation, Royal Navy Type 45 destroyer HMS Duncan, Type 23 frigate HMS St Albans and patrol ship HMS Severn tracked Russian destroyer Admiral Levchenko as it escorted sanctioned cargo vessels General Skobelev and Sparta south through the North Sea and into the English Channel. In response, Russia deployed military resources, including frigate Neustrashimy. @HMSDuncan @HMSStAlbans @hmssevern The Royal Navy ships tracked the Russian task group through the English Channel before handing over monitoring duties to a NATO ally off the coast of France near Ushant. Overall, Royal Navy activations to monitor Russian activity is up 25% across the first eight months of the year compared to 2025.
