The Houston Police Officers' Union PAC unanimously endorses Orlando Sanchez for County Judge.

HPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit recently completed an operation focused on protecting children from online exploitation. 12 suspects were arrested and charged with felony offenses related to child pornography.

It was an honor to see former Congressman Kevin Brady at Houston City Council this morning. For years, Congressman Brady fought to eliminate the unfair Social Security provisions that penalized police officers and other public servants, repeatedly introducing legislation to correct the injustice. Although he retired from Congress before the Social Security Fairness Act finally became law, this fight was truly a labor of love for him. The Houston Police Officers’ Union is proud to thank and honor Congressman Brady for his years of persistence, leadership, and commitment to the men and women who serve our communities.

Our friend, Steven David, is stepping down as Mayor Whitmire’s Chief Operations Officer and transitioning into an advisory role on the Mayor’s team. The Houston Police Officers’ Union has had the privilege of working closely with Steven for several years. Throughout that time, he has always been accessible, responsive, and willing to assist whenever called upon. His professionalism and commitment to serving the City of Houston have made him a valued partner to our officers. While we’ll miss working with him in his current capacity, we look forward to continuing our strong relationship as he begins this new chapter. We wish Steven and his family nothing but the very best and thank him for his continued service to our city. Houston is better because of dedicated public servants like Steven David.

The HPOU is saddened to learn of the passing of former HPOA/HPOU President Hans Marticiuc. Hans devoted many years to serving Houston police officers, including 12 years as president of our union. His leadership and dedication to the rights, pay, and working conditions of Houston police officers left a lasting mark on this organization and its members. Please keep his daughter, family, and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Hans.
