Thanks to @WPReadingClub for having us! 🙏 Two sessions back to back: crypto meeting rural Japan's population decline, and how @ethereum block-building is being rebuilt. A quick recap 🧵

We shared the story of Kesennuma — a fishing town of 55,000 losing around 1,000 people a year — and asked a hard question: Can blockchain and AI actually help a shrinking community, not just treat it as a passive recipient of tech?

That's exactly what Hackatsuon is testing: a civic-tech hackathon and residency in Kesennuma, where builders live in town and co-create with the community. "Community as a living lab" — but done with the people, not to them.

The second session, led by @ETHGasOfficial, went deep on the future of block building & MEV. Ethereum's 12-second block is being split into 50–100ms execution windows — turning sequencing rights into a tradeable market.
