I think AI is fine for things like reverse engineering, especially when old hardware or software would otherwise take way too much time and knowledge to figure out manually. And also, using a little AI for coding does not hurt anyone. It has made a lot of things easier for people, and even big creators like DougDoug use it. The problem is only when you rely on it for everything instead of actually learning or understanding what you are making.
