C’est la journée des franco-ontariennes! À l'exception du Québec, la communauté franco-ontarienne est la deuxième communauté (après l'Acadie) à se voir accorder un drapeau officiel. Le drapeau comporte deux couleurs : le vert pour représenter l'été et le blanc pour représenter l'hiver. Il présente également une fleur de lys, symbole de la Francophonie, et une fleur de trillium, symbole de l'Ontario. Le drapeau a été hissé pour la première fois le 25 septembre 1975 à l'Université de Sudbury, et la communauté franco-ontarienne a célébré son anniversaire depuis ce temps. Cependant, bien que le drapeau soit utilisé depuis 1975, il n'est devenu le symbole officiel de la communauté franco-ontarienne que le 21 juin 2001. Le 25 septembre est officiellement devenu le Jour franco-ontarien en 2010.
