What are you doing this Saturday afternoon? Oh... only discussing how we can use technology I created for Future Caribbean for the tourism industry could be used to aid in natural disasters.
I met Geraldine, a lecturer in Communication at UWI in Trinidad via the Future Caribbean buildathon, where I was building Pulse. She then then invited me to speak at a panel at the One-UWI conference on BimOmni, the AI model I created that better understands Barbados.
Also on the panel was Akilah, a researcher at UWI in Jamaica, studying AI and misinformation during Hurricane Melissa.
I commented that Pulse's ability to record, transcribe and allow you to search through local radio could be useful during a natural disaster.
Next thing, Geraldine emails to suggest a collaboration to see how we could use Pulse's ability to ingest both broadcast (radio) and social (tiktok, instagram, etc) media to cross-reference videos in the aftermath of a natural disaster to help identify AI-generate misinformation.
And so... here we are on a random Saturday, three curious people from three Caribbean islands collaborating in the junction of AI, media, and disaster management.

At this moment I'm pretty much deeming any cold contact offering me an interview as a scammer.
Had an "interview" for a blockchain project last week.
Camera was on, we're chatting, and the guy tells me to clone a GitHub repo and run it locally before we go further into the technical round.
I said sure, but first can you do me a favor
hold up 3 fingers in front of your face for me real quick.
He froze.
Didn't move.
Just sat there for a few seconds before the call cut off and he blocked me.
That's when I knew. A real interviewer doesn't glitch out over a random ask like that. A deepfake/AI overlay does.
These "run this repo" scams are getting scary common in crypto and dev hiring right now.
The setup is always the same:
- flattering DM
- real-sounding project
- rushed timeline
- a "quick step" before the call
that's really just remote access or a credential stealer in disguise.
If someone wants you to run code or install something before you've even had a real conversation, that's the whole scam.
Trust the instinct. Stay safe out there.

So 3 months later, after the CSF finally published their press release of the competition, I'm proudly able to say that Yuh Gettin Tru won! 1st place out of the 28 business plans presented and pitched.
I’m at the Caribbean SEED Summit 2026 here in Barbados. I’m going to be pitching Yuh Gettin Tru at the business plan pitch later today.
