The Merovingian dynasty leading into Charlemagne and the Carolingian dynasty would be incredible. Gregory of Tours has one of the best sources to come out of the Dark Ages. The 570-613 civil war has an ensemble of characters that would make Hollywood blush

Well,thanks. It’s a totally unbalanced story-lots of context then almost uninterrupted warfare.I’m hoping when the series is taken in total it’ll seem more balanced(other stories have similar issues…any of the Crusades for example. It forces me to be inventive in the narrative!)

If you look at the most recent shows, we have the two Viking shows then right into Alexander.The issue here is the lack of sources (eyewitness accounts especially, etc) in these earlier eras makes the narrative challenge much tougher. I think I’m ready for more recent stuff!😂
