* Illinois — Frankenstein: Classic, old-school monster for a classic old-school Big Ten program. Big, lumbering, orange-and-blue Frankenstein just feels extremely Midwest.
* Indiana — Annabelle: Looks innocent and wholesome on the surface, but there’s something deeply unsettling underneath. Also the crimson-and-white doll aesthetic works way too well.
* Iowa — Jason Voorhees: Cornfields, black-and-gold, no talking, no flash — just relentlessly coming after you for four quarters. Basically Iowa football as a horror villain.
* Maryland — Pennywise: Maryland’s flag already looks like something Pennywise would wear. Loud, chaotic and impossible to ignore.
* Michigan — The Nun: Gothic, self-serious and carries an almost religious sense of superiority. The maize-and-blue “evil monastery” look fits perfectly.
* Michigan State — Michael Myers: Plain, intimidating, blue-collar and seemingly impossible to permanently kill off. Plus the dark green works naturally with Michael Myers.
* Minnesota — Backwoods/Werewolf Killer: Cold forests, flannel, axes and the North Woods. This one basically writes itself.
* Nebraska — Leatherface: Red, rural, cornfields and a chainsaw. There may not be a more obvious school-villain pairing in the conference.
* Northwestern — Dracula: Wealthy, sophisticated, old architecture, elite academics and slightly mysterious. Dracula absolutely owns property in Evanston.
* Ohio State — Demonic Clown: Huge personality, scarlet everywhere and an intensity that can become slightly terrifying. Brutus is already about halfway to a horror character.
* Oregon — Creature from the Black Lagoon: Green, wet, strange and very Pacific Northwest. Looks like something that crawled out of an Oregon marsh wearing Nike.
* Penn State — The Ring-style Ghost: The all-white look, foggy Happy Valley setting and White Out atmosphere translate perfectly into supernatural horror.
* Purdue — Scarecrow: Indiana farmland plus Purdue Pete already having one of the most unsettling faces in college sports. Honestly, Purdue barely needed help here.
* Rutgers — Medieval Masked Killer: They’re the Scarlet Knights, so an armored, weapon-carrying horror villain is basically the natural evil version of their mascot.
* UCLA — Masked Hollywood Killer: Los Angeles, glamour and theatrical masks. More stylish and cinematic than grimy — very UCLA.
* USC — Freddy Krueger: Cardinal-and-gold stripes already resemble Freddy’s sweater, and Hollywood is literally home territory for movie villains. Maybe the cleanest match.
* Washington — Drowned Ghost: Seattle rain, dark water, gray skies and purple lighting. She looks like she crawled directly out of Puget Sound.
* Wisconsin — Axe-Wielding Beast: Badgers are already vicious little animals, then add Wisconsin woods, cold weather and red-and-white gear. Pure rural slasher energy. 🪓
