One of the biggest things I learned this year in the WNBA is it doesn't matter what she does every night on the court, people will just move the goal posts somewhere else the next day.
Caitlin Clark has played 2 full seasons and 1 injured season and people judge her like she's had a 15 year career already. She is literally still playing on her rookie contract and barely 24 yrs old, but she is supposed to have multiple titles already. Hilarious!
She averaged 20+ ppg and 8+ apg, something never done before in the 30 year history of the WNBA, and she's just getting started. Her average nights on the court are better than the majority of other guards best nights. She isn't the coach, she isn't the GM, and she doesn't call the plays they run on either side of the ball.
She won rookie of the year, she has been in the MVP race, she's been All WNBA 1st Team, and she's been an All Star. Stop creating this ridiculous standard for her to meet when it's much higher than anyone else in the entire league. Does she have areas that she needs to work on & improve, absolutely, and I'm sure she will. But she is doing everything on the court that people thought she would, which is why she is one of the top players in the WNBA.
You don't have to like her, I get it, there are players that I don't care for a bunch either. But at least I am smart enough to realize even though I don't like them, their performances on the court deserve recognition. Talent is talent, hoopers hoop!
Stop moving the goal post everyday because you don't like her and just enjoy watching the games!
