Caitlin updated earlier this evening: Ben and the big girls came for a visit today. We have developed a routine of big girls spending time at Caitlin’s mom’s, while Ben comes up to the hospital to spend time with Maggie. Then Gran Ne comes to sit with Maggie while Ben and girls take Caitlin to lunch. The girls love a trip to Barnes & Noble to pick up happies. And ice cream whenever they can get it! Though the separation is hard, these times together are very special. Maggie has been feeling progressively better over the past few days. Her fevers have not been quite as high, she has had more energy, and even felt up to playing some. We are so thankful for good days! Things are starting to get busy as we near transplant. Today, we met with the head BMT doctor to discuss the details of transplant. Tomorrow, Maggie will have a PICC line placed in preparation for the many infusions she will need during transplant. Wednesday, Caitlin and Maggie move to the BMT unit. Thursday, Maggie starts her chemo regimen. Please pray: - That Maggie’s prep regimen will do what it needs to to lead to a successful graft - That Maggie’s side effects from chemo and radiation would be minimal - That she would continue to have good days in the midst of all this - For Maggie’s doctors, Dr. Davis and nurses as they care for her in the coming days Above all, please pray that the Lord would be glorified through Maggie’s trial. We do not know why Maggie is sick, why our family has to go through this, but we do know He is faithful and loving. He is our unchanging, tender, loving Father, no matter our circumstances.
