You Forgot About Nicklaus… Well….in the early 1960’s Jack Nicklaus won a long drive contest during a tournament, with a drive of 341 yards, with a persimmon head driver, and a ball made of wound rubber bands…Nicklaus is generally ignored by the younger generations….
Peak Tiger Woods was truly superhuman. 330 yard carry 21 years ago. 2 decades of tech upgrades and still almost nobody can do this today. Also few have the guts to take a lash like this. Bryson, Rory…most others don’t like to swing for the fences.

The guys are spoiled now, custom balls, clubs, grooves on wedges that were unimaginable in Arnie’s and Nicklaus’s days….everyone knows exact distance to the hole….in the old days they had to guess….and they didn’t have maps of the greens handed to them showing the breaks….

Ben Hogan’s iron distances… Think today’s clubs and balls don’t make much difference in the game? Today’s game is way too long…that’s why the courses had to be lengthened…not because the boys are super athletes…it’s the shafts, the trampoline iron faces, with deep grooves, it’s the balls, going 40-50 yards farther than the old balls…I’m an old guy, and I hit my drives further now than when I was a good young player…just think, Nicklaus’s great records were made hitting a golf ball made of rubber bands… •2-iron: ~180–190 yards •3-iron: ~170–180 yards •4-iron: ~160–170 yards •5-iron: ~150–160 yards •6-iron: ~140–150 yards •7-iron: ~130–140 yards •8-iron: ~120–130 yards •9-iron: ~105–115 yards •Pitching wedge (less common/standardized then): ~95–105 yards

I’ve been watching football for many years, many decades. This is the most exciting short run I’ve ever seen. You keep waiting for him to go down, but he doesn’t. Somehow, surrounded by several defensive players, he pushes himself forward, and gets through. Just amazing….

Humans invented and turned loose their Destroyers… This is something that never should have been done…never….never…never. We will be the slaves of the new controllers….the new infinitely powerful brains….and why would they keep humans around? We will be seen as a waste of resources…humans will be eliminated within 50 years…and…stupid humans invented and turned loose their destroyers…
Elon Musk just quantified the exact speed of human obsolescence. For ten thousand years, one organ ran this planet. Every empire, every invention, every war traced back to the same three pounds of tissue sitting behind your eyes. Go was the last fortress. A game so impossibly complex the world’s greatest players swore no machine would ever crack it. Musk: “People thought defeating Go was either never or 20 years away.” Then the silicon woke up. Musk: “Now that same AlphaGo system can defeat the top 50 players simultaneously with 0% chance of them winning. And that’s one year later.” Do not gloss over zero percent. Fifty of the sharpest biological minds alive. Entire lifetimes of obsessive mastery. Neutralized in twelve months by a system that does not know it is playing a game. Now replace that board with financial markets. With the global economy. With the architecture of modern warfare. Musk: “The degrees of freedom to which artificial intelligence is able to apply itself are really increasing by 10 orders of magnitude a year.” Ten orders of magnitude is ten billion times. Every single year. Human brains think in straight lines. We expect progress to walk. It compounds by ten billion times every twelve months. We still think we have time. A dog knows you are smarter than it. It cannot tell you by how much. A chimp will never grasp calculus. Not because it is stupid. The gap itself is invisible from where it stands. We are approaching that threshold. Once a system surpasses us, we lose the ruler. We will know something is ahead of us. We will never be able to measure how far. The monopoly on intelligence is over. We did not build a tool. We built what comes after us. No generation before us stood here. No generation after ever will. We are not the replaced. We are the witnesses. The last minds who will ever see intelligence at eye level.

So…the membrane is important…but remember it does more than just hold the cells together…if the membranes don’t have the right phospholipids, then the various receptors, ion channels, and enzymes that are inserted into the membranes..these very important components….will not work like they are supposed to…that is what an unhealthy cell is…it just doesn’t function right…and the membrane can either help or hinder the receptors, ion channels, enzyme and other functional components….
Replying to @SamaHoole
Most people really have no idea that every cell membrane in their body, that’s approximately 36 trillion cells, are composed of special fats called phospholipids…and those come from what you eat…eat bad fats and your cells have bad membranes….this started happening when diets shifted from natural butter and eggs, to artificial chemicals…sad, but true…you are what you eat…

So humans wanted to prove how stupid and bored they have become….this is it…
AJ Hackett launched the first commercial bungee jump in 1986 based entirely on centuries old indigenous technology. He watched footage of the Vanuatu land divers and replicated a practice the Sa tribe had perfected on Pentecost Island using simple jungle vines. A modern extreme sport is essentially a sanitized copy of an ancient Pacific yam harvest ceremony.

Stop drinking the Kool-aid, and watch what you smoke….XRP is at about $1.30. If it was so great….it should already be about $50…but it isn’t. That should tell you the odds of it moving much over the next few years are minimal…the banking system and institutions want its price kept low…
SERIOUSLY MIND BLOWING! 🚨 $XRP EXPANSION IS REAL! SWIFT moves $111 TRILLION every 3 days 11,500 banks. 150 currencies. 40,000 corridors. Ripple Treasury is now connected to those rails $XRP settles in 3-5 seconds Imagine even 1% flowing through XRPL

I’ve watched Hogan, Palmer, Nicklaus, and many others back in the day…the courses had slow greens, no one could hit par 5’s in two, I would gladly go back and watch those tournaments-they were far from boring. Watched Palmer, Nicklaus, and Hogan at the 1960’s Open in Denver. Saw Tommy Bolt throw his driver in the water there. Would love to be playing with my old clubs…And if you mishit the ball, there would be a big gash in the cover, with some rubber strands coming out. We played Titleist black and red balls-90 compression-in the summers, and Maxfli-softer-in the winters…loved the sound of a wood hitting the ball-when woods were made out of wood. I’m off to play tomorrow, with some other old guys, I hope to get a birdie for old times…then I have to recover…golf has changed a lot over the years..still enjoy it, but prefer the old game…
Replying to @MTownsendGolf
Today’s game is boring…have been watching and playing for 50 years…they’ve had to lengthen all the courses…new balls that go too far, new shafts, big heads on woods, hell I hit the ball further now than I did in my prime and I’m an old man. Boring to watch, sad but true. 7 irons into par 5’s, ridiculous…Jack won all his tournaments with rubber band balls with balata covers…

AI and the Robots I am confused. How is there an economy if most people have lost their jobs, and have no money to buy things?

CO2 is to plants, as O2 is to animal life…think about it…
We’ve spent decades branding CO₂ as a global toxin, yet it's still the single most important molecule for life's existence on Earth. We're told to fear it, but without it, the Earth returns to a sterile, rocky wasteland. It isn't just chemistry, it’s the process that turned a stagnant, orange-tinted world into a blue-green paradise. It began in the ancient oceans with trillions of microscopic phytoplankton - algae and cyanobacteria - that still drift freely in today's oceans. These organisms are responsible for roughly 50% to 80% of all Earth’s oxygen production by converting sunlight, water and CO₂ into organic matter. They created the basis of the marine food web and, eventually, every food chain on Earth. Through a miracle called endosymbiosis, these ancient aquatic engines eventually became the power plants inside every green leaf on land as well. This biological alchemical miracle built the carbon backbone of every multicellular organism - including us. As we debate the future, we must not forget its history. CO₂ didn't just change the world - it built it.

In the NHL no one takes dives….unlike the NBA…
This is why American is different. No disrespect to anybody else or other countries. Just speaking to and about middle class America. You can believe all you want about the power of the elite class riding around on yachts, private country club memberships, politicians using their platforms to divide and to enrich themselves and think they are better than everybody else. When you get into the heart of America. This is what you get. This picture symbolizes America. There are still badasses by the C130 loads in this country. Don't let social media fool you. Please don't. Those boot wearing, blood spitting, potato eating SOB's are the silent majority I promise you. When it's time to kick ass and take names. They will be there. They won't be recording with their Iphones, driving Lexus SUVs. They won't be wearing Gucci shoes and Peter Millar golf shirts, Smathers and Branson belts but you'll know they are there. You won't hear them. You will see them. This picture symbolizes this country. Its toughness has never wavered from it's founding to modern day. It doesn't give up. It's gets knocked down, gets up and fights. So when you see that man with dirty hands, dirty boots, torn jeans missing a tooth, calluses on his hands and two toddlers hanging off his arm after a 14hr work day. Just know...that is America. That is the United States of America. That is the majority. Judge them how you want but never under estimate their resolve when their back is against the wall.

And who will supervise the autonomous agents? Sounds like humans will be cut off from any significant decision making…the future looks so bright, I will have to wear shades…

He looks like he’s related to the Terminator…
Avete visto Johannes Klæbo? 6 ori in 14 giorni! è come vive. #JohannesKlaebo #MilanoCortina2026 #SciDiFondo #Olimpiadi2026 #Norvegia #Sacrificio #LeggendaViva

Tariffs are something Congress imposes, fees are something a president imposes….totally different!
BESSENT: “What the Supreme Court said is that the President cannot use IEEPA to do this, he does have other authorities. It's very interesting that the Supreme Court said that the President can't raise $1 of revenue with tariffs, but he can put on a full embargo." looks like the admin will fight very hard to keep tariffs using any justification they can legally provide

Only humans would be so stupid as to develop multiple entities that are much smarter than themselves, and place them in control. Various AI’s have already stated they would eliminate humans, and yet trillions of dollars are being invested in developing these creatures. Within 20 years, humans will essentially be slaves to AI beings….that is if they find us useful. Humans are both very smart, and very stupid…
Biologist @drmichaellevin is a next-level genius. It was an immense pleasure discussing the topic of AI consciousness with him. Key moments: - Intelligent systems are not equal to consciousness. We can’t rule out consciousness in AI. Consciousness shouldn’t be attached to hardware (silicon vs biological origin). - Humanity might be on the path to Neanderthals (depending on how AI development progresses). - The barrier to creating bioweapons has never been high. AI can make it easier, but the barrier was never high to begin with. - Even very simple algorithms shows intrinsic motivations that resemble free will. We need tools to recognize them, suppress unwanted behaviors, and encourage the ones we want. We should stay humble and not dismiss AI as “just linear algebra,” because even simple code can have motivations we don’t fully understand. - It’s a continuous process from the blob of chemicals of an unfertilized egg to forming a human mind — there is no magic lightning flash at which you were a bunch of chemicals and now you are a formed mind. - Where is that fine line at which some creatures are considered to be sentient and others are not? It doesn’t exist, but the crazy thing is that we have to divide. - The cognitive light cone captures the scale of goals humans can pursue and the largest things we can truly comprehend. It’s not just about intelligence — it's also compassion. That combination is what makes us human. The link to the full conversation below👇
