RESIDENT EVIL [2026] Theatrical Review I have played most of the @ResidentEvil games in the franchise — ever since the first one on PlayStation, up to the most recent one. Let that duly be noted. Director/co-writer Zach Cregger has put together something that captures some of the very best parts of those games, especially that found in the second and the more recent games. It actually has a comedic side to it. Yes, you read that right but it’s not by any means a comedy. it’s also got some heart, as well as blood, guts, brains and other things that scatter the scenes throughout. It feels a lot like what you’d see [literally] from the perspective of a protagonist in the games. Just not how you’d expect to have seen as Capcom or Paul W.S. Anderson would have served up for you. There’s a Raccoon City and even infamous Umbrella Corporation. Just don’t expect anything too close to the games. Fans of the games will want to be sure to look closely for some references to items found in the entire game franchise — from the first up until the latest. Lastly, fans of Cregger will want to listen for a cameo by the director later on in the movie. Rating : 4.5 out of 5. I really enjoyed it. I also suggest you see it in @IMAX.
