Feast of the Guardian Angels — October 2
Perhaps one of the most beautiful ideas in faith is that we were never meant to walk entirely alone.
A guardian does not necessarily remove the difficult road, silence every sorrow, or keep us from ever becoming lost. Sometimes guardianship is simply a presence beside us—a quiet nudge toward what is good, a little courage when ours is running thin, or an unseen hand reminding us to keep going.
Today I am grateful for every form that guardianship has taken in my life: the people who stayed, the unexpected kindnesses, the warnings I somehow listened to, the doors that opened at the right moment, and those mysterious little mercies I may never be able to explain.
And perhaps we honor our guardian angels best by becoming a little bit of that presence for one another.
May we recognize what watches over us, and be gentle with what has been entrusted to our care. ❤️
