On my 10th birthday my parents forgot. I woke up excited and found the house silent. I was crying in the living room when my dad asked why I was whining. I told him no one had remembered. He said, “Let’s go for a drive.”
He drove to the hardware store in our small town and came out with two little dolls. They were my favourites from that day on.
As parents we may forget, but what stays with someone is the time you take to repair it, or the time you don’t.
