Alright then, Control Resonant wrapped up.
- not connected enough to the Remedyverse
- kinda predictable, not messed up enough
- repetitive in certain places
- too easy (played on defaults)
- final boss can be totally cheesed xD
- pick a build, stick to it, no reason to use other things (I wonder how screwed you areif you pick "the incorrect one")
- abilities, seems like there is a usefull tier and useless tier
- similarly, artifacts aka equipment - useless
That being said, I did enjoy it. Open world is done VERY well, not a slog at all. Combat feels amazing when abilities etc finally come together. Story is decent, but it's just not Alan Wake 2 or Control 1 levels at all.
It might be a hot take, but the focus on action has hurt this game massively. I expected something less generic and more quirky. More Remedy.
Also, no spoilers, but I am dissapointed by a few expected key elements missing. IYKYK.
Buy on sale :P
After 100%ing Onimusha, nearly beating The Blood of Dawnwalker (going for a playthrough that does it all-ish, so I don't have to replay it, lol), and now this...
I think I see a trend in gaming. Devs making games that make you not engage with 75% of the mechanics of the game. Neither have really forced me to think what I was doing, I was just hammering through them.
Meh.
