Interestingly, Theta Theta Telugu (తేట తేట తెలుగు) is the only restaurant from Hyderabad to make Condé Nast Traveller India’s Top 50 Restaurants list, ranking at No. 17.
As I mentioned earlier, it’s a modern take on Telugu food, and you can definitely give it a try.
Visited Theta Theta Telugu in Jubilee Hills for a business lunch. It is a relatively new restaurant from the team behind Spicy Venue. The ground floor has a Telugu-themed café called Coffee Sangam, while the restaurant is on the first floor.
Despite the name, this is not a typical Telugu restaurant. It offers a modern take on Telugu cuisine, with the menu curated by Sampath Garu of Spicy Venue and a chef who previously worked at Indian Accent. The ambience is excellent and much better than OG Spicy Venue.
We tried Ghee Roast Chicken Wings, Karma Podi Prawns Tempura, a mutton starter, Mutton Dum Pulao made with Chitti Mutyalu rice, and Coconut Rasmalai. The pulao was the highlight, and every dish was excellent.
The pricing is on the higher side, but it is definitely worth trying.
