Thoughts on CPM for content: Every CRO/VP of Sales asks this question. "What is the ROI of a ghostwriter?" If you care about CPM (cost-per-meeting)/lead gen., DON'T HIRE A GHOSTWRITER. This is a given. Unlike cold calling, cold emailing, SEO, ads, etc., organic content is going to get you scattered results. Example: The guy in my OG screenshot generates between 5M-7.5M impressions per month through Erudite. We've had some months that've brought in 20+ meetings, 5+ enterprise deals, and 7-figures in C/W deals solely through content. On the flip side, we've had some months where he only generates 2-4 meetings and $0.00 in new rev. HOWEVER Organic socials goes way beyond CPM. - Invites to podcasts - Invites to dinners/events - Attracting top talent from competitors - Increased familiarity around personal + company brand I don't have numbers on this (they range), but this helps: 1. Retain talent 2. Increase cold call:meeting conversion rate 3. Increase meeting:close rate 4. Increase speed of deal Why? It creates a sense of trust with your ICP. They know you. And if they know you + your offer, they're likely to be MOFU/BOFU accounts before you even reach out. Can't tell you how many times I've heard "oh yeah! I've seen your stuff on LinkedIn. Yeah let's book a call" after ripping some cold calls.

For me, this number alone doesn’t tell me if you’re doing a good job for the client unless I can understand how much they are paying for it. Translate to CPM?

Are you poor? Build a software to sell in Codex. Are you ugly? Marry a fat girl and stuff her with GLP-1s. Are you dumb? Use Replit to host your software (domain, security, infra is DFY). We're living in the golden era. You can do anything.

When friends ask me for advice on hiring a GTM engineer - I often warn them not to post the job with that title. 1. Why do you think you need one? 2. If you do need one, avoid filtering on the title (which, if we're being honest, is noisy). Instead, I'd focus only on your businesses stage (repeatable GTM motion or not?), and then testing for high agency & technical ability. Former technical founders are interesting here: they've often sold AND built product - killer combination for this role. But it can turn into unicorn hunting.

Each week, I write between 40-80 posts. Completely by hand. We've written for over 50 founders, so I like to think I have a strategy in place. Some basic advice: 1. Find your tribe 2. Pick your ideals 3. Post your hot takes 4. Embrace all the backlash 5. Network with everyone who sides with you 6. Give EVERYTHING away (no one will use it anyways) 7. Quality matters, but volume teaches you what quality is 8. Repurpose your bangers 9. Attach images to each post (it's a 2nd hook) 10. Tell stories in your posts instead of giving generic advice - Bonus 1: Ask yourself "Could AI have written this?" after each post. If 'yes' delete and start over. - Bonus 2: There's no such thing as a professional writer. We're all professional re-writers. Great content gets made by revising until perfection. Some people think that's too much work. Yeah... because it IS a lot of work! Building a brand is difficult work. 1. Be patient 2. Follow the process 3. If you don't wanna do it yourself, then hire a pro: calendly.com/outbounder-jame…

How to grow an account from 0 to 10K followers in 30 days: CONTEXT: I've ghostwritten for over 50 founders. There's a HUGE difference between writing for someone with an existing audience vs. someone starting from scratch. Whenever someone is starting from 0, every ghostwriter says the same thing. "It's going to take a while." Bullsh!t. It doesn't have to. 1. Pick your ideals Find topics that (1) you believe in and (2) are divisive. Examples: Politics, abortion, sales strategy, AI, spirituality. You WILL piss off 50% of your viewers. But this is a good thing, 2. F*ck engagement pods. The better approach is this The problem with engagement pods is that they attract the wrong people. You get a mix of devs in India, designers in Pakistan, solo founders in the States, and engineers in China commenting on your post. Why? What's the point? Those people don't work in your niche/industry. Instead, bring people in your content. Tag your peers, mentors, and customers in posts where you're sharing stories about them; they'll engage. 3. Thought leadership is dead (unless you're storytelling) Can't express this enough. "Here's 5 tips for cold calling" stopped working a long time ago. Why? AI can fill in the blanks. Instead, share "Here's how I cold call" and share your process and story. 4. Use images Screenshots of conversations work well for this. They serve as a second hook to your content. 5. Have variation in sentence structure Most people follow this framework: Sentence, newline, sentence, newline, sentence, newline. This is hard to read, predictable, and boring. It's okay to write a paragraph. It's okay to have a 1-word sentence. Variation gives your reader flavor. 6. Use structures Structures are lists, quotes, and other visual writing to simplify complex ideas. Example: If I wanted to explain how to write a post, I'd use one of these 2 structures: 6A (the arrow structure): Wake up ➝ Open MacBook ➝ Write 2 ideas ➝ Set a 2 hour timer ➝ Write until it ends 6B (the elevator list): - Wake up - Open MacBook - Write 2 ideas down - Set a two hour timer - Write until the timer ends 7. Give it all away The reality of giving away your secrets is that NO ONE cares. People may bookmark your posts, but rarely will they take action. So, if you want to be a thought leader, you might as well give away all your secrets.
