Peace decides whether a child can go to school, a family can return home and a community can look to the future without fear. Across the IGAD region, its absence is felt in lives disrupted and opportunities lost. It is against this backdrop that IGAD remains committed to bringing people together, preventing conflict and supporting those who build peace in their communities every day. Happy International Day of Peace. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ #InternationalDayOfPeace #InvestInPeace #OneRegionOneFuture

Honoured to join High Ethiopian government officials, health ministers, policymakers, healthcare leaders, investors and innovators at the 13th East Africa Healthcare Federation Conference and International Exhibition in Addis Ababa. Todayโ€™s gathering reinforces a simple truth; health sovereignty underpins national sovereignty, economic resilience and shared prosperity. East Africa has the talent, innovation and ambition to build resilient health systems, create jobs, attract investment and strengthen local manufacturing. Itโ€™s time to move from dependency to capacity, from aid to investment, and from importing solutions to building African solutions. From Adwa to this generation, Africa has shown it can determine its own destiny. Now, we must prove we can also secure our health.
