Now that the Pirates season has come to a close, I just wanted to be vulnerable for a minute
For those of you that don’t know me, I suffer from pretty awful social anxiety. It can be very debilitating and definitely hinders my day-to-day. Towards the beginning of the year, I sought out some help to try and overcome it, and one of the main exercises was, basically, exposure therapy
I’ve had the BallPark Pass for a few years, but usually only went to games where I could tag along with someone. But this year, I went to the majority of the 18 games I attended this year by myself, and I have to say, it was wonderful
Baseball has always been an escape for me and going to these games open the door for me to meet new people, engage in conversations, interact with a community, and even get myself on a ballpark scoreboard 🤣 I never could’ve had that experience without such a great season, full of great memories
I have a long way to go with my anxiety, but I’ll never forget this season, this team, and everyone I’ve interacted with, as being the start of progress in my journey. One that’ll hopefully continue next year with another great season!
I love baseball, I love all of you, and most importantly, I love the Pittsburgh Pirates
Thank you
