Statement of Gratitude and Appreciation
In view of the understanding reached between the intern doctors and the Government of Jammu & Kashmir that the issue of enhancement of internship stipend shall be resolved within one month, we welcome the assurance and place on record our sincere gratitude to all those who supported the movement.
We are thankful to the general public, civil society, academicians, members of the legal fraternity, senior citizens, political representatives, medical associations, and, above all, the interns and MBBS students who remained steadfast on the roads for nine days, despite the difficult weather conditions.
I express my personal gratitude to
@ZuhaibYousf sb for his continued support and for arranging refreshments for the protesting interns;
@NasirKhuehami sb for taking up the matter with the Government and facilitating the resolution process;
@abrarrashid29 Sahib for his support and
@Vikasamiinn sb for his consistent support throughout.
We are equally grateful to the national team of the Indian Medical Association (IMA)
@ima_jdn and all other associations that extended their support to the cause.
We acknowledge and appreciate the role of the elected Government of Jammu & Kashmir in engaging with the interns and facilitating a constructive resolution. The assurance extended by the Government is a welcome step and reflects the importance of resolving legitimate public grievances through dialogue and democratic engagement.
At the same time, we remain conscious that the matter will attain finality only upon issuance of the formal order and its implementation. We therefore look forward to the Government honouring its commitment within the assured timeframe.
This movement was a collective effort, and its strength lay in the unity, patience and perseverance of everyone who stood with the interns. Our gratitude to each and every person who supported us.
